Newsroom Standards

The Simply Success Sports Newsroom is published by Simply Success Sports, LLC, in Orlando, Florida. These standards explain how we report, how we correct mistakes, and how we disclose relationships that matter to our readers.

Effective October 26, 2026

Editorial Policy

Our mission
We cover the NFL, college sports, and the business of Name, Image and Likeness, with a focus on the people, brands, and opportunities behind the game. Our goal is accurate, fair, original reporting that helps readers understand why a story matters.

Editorial independence
Our editors alone decide what we cover and how we cover it. Advertisers, sponsors, and business partners have no input on our coverage and do not review stories before publication. We do not accept payment for coverage.

Accuracy and sourcing

  • We verify facts, scores, and statistics against primary sources, such as official league and team data, box scores, and public records.
  • Quotes come from our own interviews or from public settings, such as news conferences, and we say where each quote came from.
  • When we use information first reported by another outlet, we credit and link to that outlet.
  • We use anonymous sources only when the information is important and cannot be obtained another way. When we do, we explain why the source was not named.

Bylines and datelines
Every story carries the name of the person who wrote it, or "Newsroom Staff" for collaborative or briefing pieces. A dateline, such as "TAMPA, Fla.," means our reporter was at that location.

News, analysis, and opinion
News stories report what happened. Stories that interpret events are labeled
Analysis. Stories that share a personal point of view are labeled Column or Opinion.

Fairness
When a story includes serious criticism of a person or organization, we make a good faith effort to contact them for a response before publishing.

Young athletes
When we cover high school athletes or anyone under 18, we interview them only with permission from a parent or guardian, and we follow the media policies of their school and governing body.

Images
Photos are licensed from providers such as Getty Images, provided by the subjects with permission, or taken by our staff. Every image carries a credit.

Originality
All work published by the Newsroom must be original. Plagiarism and fabrication are grounds for removing the content and ending a contributor's relationship with the Newsroom.

Use of technology
Our team may use digital tools, including AI assistance, for research, transcription, and editing support. Every story is reviewed, fact-checked, and approved by a human editor before publication, and we never use AI to create quotes, sources, or images presented as real.

Corrections Policy

We work hard to get every story right. When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly and openly.

How to report an error: email News@SimplySuccessSports.com with the story link and the information you believe is wrong. We review every request.

How we correct:

  • Factual errors (wrong names, scores, dates, statistics, or quotes) are corrected in the story, and we add a note at the bottom showing the date and what changed. For example: "Correction, October 27, 2026: An earlier version of this story misstated the final score. The Bears won 30 to 24."
  • Significant errors that change the meaning of a story get a correction note at the top of the story.
  • Updates that add new information are labeled with "Updated" and the date.
  • Minor typos and grammar fixes may be made without a note.

We do not remove published stories to hide errors. In rare cases, such as legal or safety concerns, a story may be unpublished, and we will explain why when we can.

Disclosure Policy

Code of Ethics

The Newsroom follows the principles of the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics: seek truth and report it, minimize harm, act independently, and be accountable and transparent. Where this page and that code differ, we follow the stricter standard.

Ownership and Funding

The Simply Success Sports Newsroom is owned and published by Simply Success Sports, LLC, based in Orlando, Florida. The Newsroom is funded by advertising, affiliate partnerships, and sponsorships, all of which are labeled. No advertiser, sponsor, or client has an ownership stake in the Newsroom or any say in its coverage.

Our relationship with Simply Success Sports

Simply Success Sports, LLC, also provides athlete branding, representation, and brand partnership services. The Newsroom operates independently of that work. When a story involves an athlete, brand, or organization that has a business relationship with Simply Success Sports, we disclose that relationship at the top of the story.

Advertising and affiliate links
The Newsroom displays advertising, which is labeled as such. Some ads and links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you make a purchase. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no influence on our coverage.

Sponsored content
Content paid for by a sponsor is clearly labeled "Sponsored" or "Paid Partnership" and is kept separate from our news coverage. Our reporters do not write sponsored content about subjects they cover.

Gifts and access
We do not accept gifts, payments, or free products in exchange for coverage. Media credentials and press access are used only for reporting.

Contributors and Submissions

Contributing writers and photographers follow these standards and are listed on our Masthead. We welcome story ideas, tips, and contributor pitches at News@SimplySuccessSports.com. Submitted articles are reviewed and edited before publication, and we may decline any submission. We do not publish press releases as news stories; a release may lead to reporting, but the story will be written by our staff and will credit the release.

Interviews and Recordings

Our reporters identify themselves and the Newsroom before an interview. We record interviews only with the person's knowledge. Quotes are published as spoken, edited only for length or clarity in ways that do not change their meaning.

Corrections Log

This log lists every correction we have made, newest first.

No corrections have been published yet.
